Abhyanga: a two-person synchronized warm oil massage

Learn the ancient traditional Indian art of Ayurvedic Massage.  Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.”  Ayurveda looks at each person as a unique combination of physical, mental and emotional characteristics.  The training will include lecture on the fundamental principles of Ayurveda and the art of looking at each client uniquely, in order to provide a balanced treatment that is suitable for each dosha (vata, pitta and kapha.)

Traditional Ayurvedic massage includes marma chikitsa.  A marma is a vital energy point which serves as a bridge between the body, mind and spirit.  Learn the most important marma points to address specific conditions in the body and balance the doshas.  The training includes the use of specific massage oils and aromatherapy applied to address the individual needs of each client.

Abhyanga massage cleanses the deep tissues of toxins, opens the subtle channels, strengthens the body, increases vitality and rejuvenates the body, mind and spirit.  These days everyone is talking about Ayurveda.  The skills learned in this training can be used to enhance your existing practice and better serve your clients or for personal well-being.

  • One and two person Ayurvedic massage will be taught and practiced.
  • Bring a set of sheets each day that you do not mind getting oily.
  • Dress in comfortable clothing that you can get oil on. 
  • Come prepared to apply and receive massage lots of massage.
