1 Intro to Ayurveda: Come and explore the ancient healing practices of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda means the “science of life” and is a 5000 year old holistic healing system from India. It works from the perspective of each unique individual to re-establish harmony and balance. WIth this knowledge you can use many simple techniques to help you balance your constitution naturally.
You will learn the fundamental principles of Ayurveda. This class will focus on the 5-element theory, 3-doshas (vata, pitta and kapha), including their locations and expressions throughout the body. You will discover your unique physical/mental/emotional constitution and some ways through diet and lifestyle that will assist in balancing your dosha

2 Agni: Digestive Fire and Home Remedies

The quality of the digestive process largely determines one’s state of health. Each dosha has it’s own type of ‘agni’. Today we will discuss the 4 agnis and work with spices, foods, and herbs to increase each individuals digestive fire.

3 Six Stages of Digestion and Our Emotions

This class will guide you on how to use the six tastes in your diet to create proper absorption of food consumption and to balance our emotions. We will look at emotions and relate them to the organs. You will be able to restore your body to optimal health.

4 Ayurvedic Assessment Skills

Have you always wondered how to identify or ‘read’ specific qualities, doshas, balance or imbalance in yourself and others? We will cover the classical Ayurvedic 8-fold assessment, including tongue, nail, facial and pulse diagnosis. It is by cultivating the art of awareness that profound healing and growth can occur. The skills taught in this class will be especially beneficial for healing arts practitioners and yoga teachers.
Presented by: Dr. Dhru, M.D graduate of The Ayurvedic Institute, studied Ayurveda with Dr. Lad, including Gurukula Program in Pune, India. He is Board Certified in ENT and Head and Neck Surgery in the USA and Canada, and was in private practice for more than 20 years. He is a certified yoga teacher by Yoga Alliance. He is an expert diagnostician in both western and eastern modalities, international educator on Ayurveda and Yoga and has been involved with teaching assignments at the Ayurveda Institute. 5 Rasayana: Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Therapies for Body, Mind and Spirit

6 Daily Dinacharya, The Art of Daily Ayurvedic Healing Rituals

Learn how the natural daily cycles of the organs and doshas in relationship to seasons and time influences our lives. Through honoring these biological rhythms and applying Ayurvedic healing modalities, we can create a daily routine that is aligned with the beauty of nature. In this way we experience more joy, abundant energy, strong digestion and peace in each moment.

The intention os the course materials covered in each class is to deeply enrich your life with a strong understanding and practical application of traditional Ayurvedic wisdom. All of the classes are designed to address various levels of knowledge, interest and skill.
The following classes will be taught by Nickole Thornton and Bethanie Sand of NW Ayurveda, Kael Balizer of Life In Balance Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Center and Dr. Duval Dhru, M.D..
The cost of each class is $45 per person. If you enroll for all 6 classes, the total costs $225. We require a minimum of six students to R.S.V.P. to teach the classes as planned.
